Kristen grew up in Cary, North Carolina, playing lacrosse and spending lots of time with family and friends. From a young age, Kristen knew she wanted to pursue a career in healthcare, specifically with children. Kristen’s Dad introduced her to occupational therapy and her parents encouraged her to explore shadowing opportunities. From then on she was determined to pursue this career and help individuals grow to their full potential. While completing her undergraduate degree in Public Health Studies at UNCW, she became a Certified Public Access Trainer for service dogs through the organization paws4people. She immediately continued her education at ECU to receive her Master’s of Science in occupational therapy. One of Kristen’s favorite things about occupational therapy is the ability to be creative and think outside the box. Outside of occupational therapy, Kristen loves being with her two dogs, reading books, watching the TV show Big Brother, and spending time with loved ones.
