Experiment Explorers – Fall 2025
FOLLOWS THE INTERESTS OF GROUP MEMBERS TO COMPLETE MOTIVATING SCIENCE PROJECTS WHILE BUILDING UPON EXECUTIVE FUNCTION, SOCIAL PROBLEM SOLVING AND COOPERATIVE SKILLS.
for children 7 – 11 years old
This is a project-based program with a focus on science experiments. Children will have the opportunity to work on skills related to executive functioning, self-regulation, social interaction, planning, and self-concept. Example projects may include: making a volcano, creating a rain cloud, mining through ice, etc. Working towards a shared interest and goal helps motivate children to form strong friendships as well as learn to navigate peer negotiation.
Goals:
- Peer perspective taking
- Problem solving within a group context
- Executive functioning skills related to planning, praxis, sequencing and organization
- Tolerating challenges during project-based activities
- Cooperative play, teamwork and peer negotiation
Location: Carrboro
When: Thursdays, 4:00 – 5:00 PM
Dates: September 1st – December 12th
Total Cost: $1,260
This club is not billed through insurance.
Registration Information
Registration for this club will open Monday, August 4th.
Children are expected to attend every session (barring illness), as the sessions build on each other and group dynamics are an important component. You will not be reimbursed for missed sessions.
