DEVELOPING SKILLS TO INCREASE INDEPENDENCE IN DAILY LIFE
For children ages 13-18 years
Teens in the Life Skills Club build motor skills, motor planning/sequencing, executive functioning skills and safety awareness in order to increase independence in daily life skills. Participants will work together with peers to complete these activities in the clinic environment and learn how to carryover at home and in the community.
Goals include:
- Increase motor planning and sequencing skills
- Increase executive functioning skills
- Increase independence in meal planning/preparation
- Increase independence in household chores
- Increase independence in money management
- Identifying potential safety risks
- Increase social participation among peer
Location: Durham
When: Wednesdays, 5:00-6:00pm
Dates: June 14th – August 23rd (OFF week of July 4th)
Total Cost: $900
This club is not billed through insurance

Children are expected to attend every session (barring illness), as the sessions build on each other and group dynamics are an important component. You will not be reimbursed for missed sessions.
