Minecraft Masters – Summer 2025
BUILD EXECUTIVE FUNCTION, PROBLEM SOLVING & COOPERATIVE SKILLS WITH ACTIVITIES INSPIRED BY MINECRAFT!
For children ages 8 – 11 years
This is a project-based program, with a focus on a shared interest – Minecraft. Children will have the opportunity to work on skills related to executive functioning, self-regulation, social interaction, planning, and self-concept. Example projects may include: creating live-action games or obstacle courses inspired by Minecraft, creating new Minecraft-inspired characters, creating collaborative lego creations inspired by Minecraft, etc. Working towards a shared interest and goal helps motivate children to form strong friendships as well as learn to navigate peer negotiation.
Goals include:
- Peer perspective taking
- Problem solving within a group context
- Executive functioning skills related to planning, praxis, sequencing, and organization
- Tolerating challenges during project-based activities
- Cooperative play, teamwork and peer negotiation
Location: Carrboro
When: Thursdays, 4:00-5:00pm
Dates: June 16th – August 22nd
Total Cost: $900
This club is not billed through insurance.
Registration Information
Registration will open for current Emerge clients on Monday, April 14th at 8:00 AM! You will need a password to register, so be sure to ask your Emerge therapist!
Registration will open to all on Wednesday, April 16th at 8:00 AM! You will not need a password.
Children are expected to attend every session (barring illness), as the sessions build on each other and group dynamics are an important component. You will not be reimbursed for missed sessions. If your child is not currently attending therapy sessions at Emerge, we will be in touch with you to set up a brief free screening to determine if this program is a good match for your child.
