Originally from the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, Katie moved to the Triangle in 2010 to attend UNC Chapel Hill. After graduating, Katie worked in higher education for 9 years before returning to school to pursue a degree in the healthcare field. In May 2025, Katie graduated from the Occupational Therapy Assistant Program at Durham Technical Community College. She has clinical experience in a variety of settings, including mental health, geriatrics, and pediatrics – specifically at Emerge! During her fieldwork at Emerge, Katie discovered her passion for working with children and their families. She enjoys designing personalized sessions that are both fun and functional, as well as finding creative approaches to help clients achieve their goals. 

In her free time, Katie enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, listening to podcasts, baking, and being outdoors.
