Mackenzie grew up in Cary, North Carolina, babysitting for local families and volunteering with her church’s children’s ministry. It was while volunteering that she met a young boy with special needs, and through working with him and his family she was introduced to occupational therapy. She fell head-over-heels in love with the profession, and after graduating from East Carolina University in 2019 with a degree in Child Development, she immediately continued her education at ECU to receive her Master’s of Science in Occupational Therapy. Mackenzie has experience working with a multidisciplinary team of physical therapists, speech therapists, and ABA therapists in multiple outpatient pediatric settings. One of Mackenzie’s favorite things about occupational therapy is how the everyday moments mean everything! Every situation is a chance to learn, grow, and celebrate the little victories. In her free time, Mackenzie loves being with her family and friends, doing photography, reading, playing pickleball, singing, and trying new things!
