Social Scouts Cary – Spring 2025
DEVELOPING SELF-REGULATION STRATEGIES & CONFIDENCE IN PEER INTERACTIONS!
for children ages 6 – 8 years
Social Scouts is a program focusing on developing communication, self-regulation skills and strategies to navigate social situations and negotiate peer interactions. By learning about neurodivergent and neurotypical communication styles, club members will learn how to become “Social Scouts” to advocate for themselves and master the tools they need to navigate the social world. This program will include social communication and sensory motor activities in the sensory gym, games, art, and concepts from curriculums such as Social Thinking and Zones of Regulation through a neurodiversity-affirming lens.
Goals include:
Develop strategies for:
- Peer perspective taking
- Conversation skills
- Teamwork & Problem solving
- Developing sensory-based strategies to improve self-regulation
- Developing negotiation, sharing and game skills with peers
Location: Cary
When: Wednesdays, 3:00 – 4:00pm
Dates: February 3 – May 30 (Monday clubs through June 2 due to Memorial Day Holiday)
Total Cost: $1,530
This club is not billed through insurance.

Children are expected to attend every session (barring illness), as the sessions build on each other and group dynamics are an important component. You will not be reimbursed for missed sessions.
