Erin is a North Carolina native, who grew up in Cary. She spent her middle school and high school years babysitting and knew she wanted a career that involved working with children. While in her undergrad at Virginia Tech, Erin learned about Occupational Therapy and after shadowing at a pediatric Occupational Therapy clinic the summer of her freshman year she knew that she wanted to pursue it as a career. After graduating from Virginia Tech in 2011 with a degree in Human Development, Erin attended Jefferson College of Health Sciences in Roanoke, Virginia where she received her Master’s of Science in Occupational Therapy in 2013. Prior to joining Emerge, Erin worked at a pediatric outpatient clinic for 7 years and provided services in the clinic, in homes through Early Intervention, and in the public school system. She has experience working with clients of all ages from infant to young adult. Erin has attended numerous courses in the areas of Sensory Integration, visual perceptual skills, neuromuscular disorders, and functional vision. In her free time, Erin likes to spend time with family, reading, going to the beach, and watching college sports (Go HOKIES!!).
