Worker Bots – Summer 2020
Building skills to maintain attention and self-regulation through
heavy work, sensory-based activities within a construction theme
Ages 4 thru 6 years old
Worker Bots is a virtually-led, space-themed, small-group that provides structured sensory input to support children’s ability to sustain attention, and appropriately maintain their regulation. In addition to the provision of supportive sensory-input, children will learn ways to identify their own regulatory state, and practice implementing sensory-based calming strategies within a social context. With you and your child working as a cooperative team, you may participate in building tasks, heavy work, movement, and curriculum-based lessons (such as Social Thinking, Zones of Regulation, The Alert Program, etc.) all within your home!
Goals include:
- Develop increased self-awareness, by identifying regulatory levels
- Build and utilize sensory-based strategies to promote attention and self-regulation
- Develop social skills, including perspective-taking, cooperation, and flexibility to build friendships
- Improve body awareness as it relates to personal space, movement, and social interactions
When: Thursdays, June 18th – August 6th
Time: 4:00 – 5:00 pm
Cost: $100 per session
Registration Information
To register, submit an electronic form.
Children are expected to attend every session (barring illness), as the sessions build on each other and group dynamics are an important component. These services are billed as Occupational and/or Speech Therapy services and many parents receive partial reimbursement from their insurance companies.
If your child is not attending therapy sessions at Emerge, we will be in touch with you to set up a brief free screening to determine if this program is a good match for your child.
