Gaming Guild – Spring 2025
BUILD EXECUTIVE FUNCTION, SOCIAL PROBLEM SOLVING & COOPERATIVE SKILLS WITH ACTIVITIES INSPIRED BY POKEMON, MINECRAFT, ROBLOX, AND MORE!
For children ages 8 – 11 years
This is a project-based program, with a focus on a shared interest – gaming. Children will have the opportunity to work on skills related to executive functioning, self-regulation, social interaction, planning, and self-concept. Example projects may include: creating live-action games or obstacle courses inspired by various video games, creating new gaming-inspired characters, creating collaborative lego creations inspired by video games, etc. Working towards a shared interest and goal helps motivate children to form strong friendships as well as learn to navigate peer negotiation.
Goals include:
- Peer perspective taking
- Problem solving within a group context
- Executive functioning skills related to planning, praxis, sequencing and organization
- Tolerating challenges during project-based activities
- Cooperative play, teamwork and peer negotiation
Location: Cary
When: Tuesdays, 5:00-6:00pm
Dates: February 3 – May 30 (Monday clubs through June 2 due to Memorial Day Holiday)
Total Cost: $1,530

Children are expected to attend every session (barring illness), as the sessions build on each other and group dynamics are an important component. You will not be reimbursed for missed sessions.
