At nearly every talk I give, questions about autism come up and inevitably one of those questions is why are we seeing such a huge increase in the incidence of autism. While undoubtedly many factors are involved, I strongly feel that environmental factors are one piece of the picture for some children. I recently read that a five year old today has as many toxins in their body as an eighty year old did fifty years ago. And the difference between generations exposure is startling. My mother grew up on a farm, eating primarily what they themselves raised. I grew up in a small town, removed from the land, but with fresh milk delivered to our door and eating out occurring only rarely. For many children today, fast food is a common part of their diet and even food at home is often laced with chemicals.
