Does Emerge treat adults?
Yes! We offer speech therapy and occupational therapy for adults. We are happy to announce that we are now in-network for Medicare clients!
Do I have to sit at a small table or be in a gym with kids?
No. We have various treatment rooms set up for adults.
What speech therapy services do you offer?
Our speech therapist, Amy, has two years of experience working with adults in both inpatient and outpatient settings. She has worked with adults with traumatic brain injury, stroke, Parkinson’s disease, ALS, spinocerebellar ataxia, head and neck cancer, dysphonia (voice disorders), and vocal cord dysfunction. She can provide treatment for attention, memory, executive functioning, dysphagia (difficulty swallowing), aphasia (loss of language), dysarthria (slurred speech), speech generating devices, voice disorders, and more.
What occupational therapy services do you offer?
Our occupational therapist, Jaclyn, has experience working with adults in the outpatient setting, as well as in a volunteer role at a residential site for individuals with traumatic brain injury. She has worked with adults who experience sensory processing differences, executive functioning difficulties, trouble with self-care skills, and those who need to identify new leisure activities.
Why should I go to Emerge?
Simply put, Emerge is a unique model of therapy. We are able to provide services to target the client’s goals, and continue to provide care beyond the bounds of traditional, medical-model limitations. We are able to tailor sessions, activities, and goals to meet the things most important to our clients, which sets us apart from others.
