Is your child struggling to learn how to write? Even in this age of electronics, it is important to be able to comfortably and legibly write. Many children are finding themselves facing the demands of writing (and coloring, drawing, and cutting) in the early grades and they do not have the foundation skills to meet these demands. Children need to experience success in the beginning of their school career. Not only are they learning important skills to build on, but they are also establishing their self-confidence in relation to school.

Emerge is pleased to offer a small handwriting group, Tuesday afternoons at our Chapel Hill office. Each hour and a half is designed to develop both the motor and visual perceptual foundations for writing as well as focus on the mechanics of writing, including correct letter formation, line placement, spacing and letter size. The use of creative themes, materials, and games makes learning these skills fun and more effective than laborious drill work.
